About Balloon Sinuplasty
Dr. Waters has been a pioneer using Balloon Sinuplasty™ for the management of recurrent sinus problems. Experienced in this technique, this has provided patients a minimally invasive option for resolving their chronic sinus issues.
With Balloon Sinuplasty, Dr. Waters will open inflamed sinuses in the same way that heart surgeons open up blocked arteries during balloon angioplasty. The procedure is less invasive than traditional sinus surgery, and allows you to return to normal activities usually within 24 hours. Balloon Sinuplasty™ does not involve the removal of bone or tissue from the nose. Discomfort is typically minimal and there is no cumbersome sinus packing.
Balloon Sinuplasty™ uses endoscopes (microscopes placed in the nose), and has been found to be less invasive with a quicker recovery time than traditional sinus surgery. Under the guidance of microscopes placed through the nose, a wire and a catheter system access the openings of the sinuses. Once in place, the tiny balloons are gradually inflated to open the blocked sinuses. This opening allows for normal function and drainage of the sinuses. PROVEN - A study of over 1000 patients treated with sinus balloon catheters showed that nearly 100% experienced improvement in their sinus problems.
FAST - While recovery time varies with each patient, people can quickly return to normal activities thanks to minimal discomfort and virtually no bleeding.
Benefits of Balloon Sinuplasty™ In-Office
Balloon Sinuplasty™ In-Office is an option for patients who decline or are ineligible for general anesthesia.
While recovery time varies with each patient, most patients who undergo the in-office procedure can return to normal activities and walk within 2 days.
Experience the procedure in the comfort of Dr. Waters’ office rather than a hospital operating room.
High Patient Satisfaction
The majority of patients who had Balloon Sinuplasty™ in-office would recommend the procedure to the family and friends.
Potential for Significant Cost Savings
Some eligible patients may have lower out-of-pocket costs because the Balloon Sinuplasty™ is performed in the doctor’s office as opposed to a hospital setting.
